Always wash your hands before touching the area of your new tattoo.
The transparent adhesive bandage should be worn for 3 days, unless it fills with fluid or is falling off. To remove the bandage, gently lift a corner, apply warm water and mild, unscented soap like Dove or Ivory, and roll the bandage down along itself. During the first cleaning, it is important to wash away any dried blood and discharge. Pat your tattoo dry with paper towel.
Wash with mild, unscented soap and gently dry your tattoo twice a day for the first week. Wash your tattoo more often if it becomes dirty or sweaty.
Remember that the first few days your new tattoo is an open wound and can become infected, so please use caution. It is normal to have some redness and tenderness around the tattoo for the first few days, but if it persists longer, this could be a sign of infection. If the problem does not improve within 24 hours, please contact us or consult your family physician.
Avoid submerging or soaking your tattoo in water (of any kind) for at least 2-3 weeks. Avoid working out for at least 2-3 weeks.
It is normal for a fresh tattoo to dry out, flake and become itchy after a few days. If you feel that your tattoo is dry, tight and/or itchy, you can apply a small amount of unscented moisturizer once or twice per day for relief.
Do not pick or scratch your tattoo. You should let your body do most of the work when it comes to healing.
Your tattoo should be fully healed within 3 weeks of your appointment.
